The owner was very friendly and offered us samples of the dishes, to gauge how spicey they were.
I tried the biryani and kashmeri chicken, both of which were delicious. Served with a generous amount of raita and a drink.
Their servings are huge. You also have the option of half portions in case you don't want alot.
Great place for takeout or a quick bite if your in this area.
This would be considered a greasy spoon type of restaurant. -

As an Indian myself, sometimes I crave authentic Indian food that my grandma would've made for me, or dishes created from tradition. King Place is a great take out restaurant, known for its authentic Indian dishes. I will mention that it took a while to establish a 'connection' with the owners and staff as I kept coming here, and initially the experience wasn't very pleasant. However, I kept going back, and on each occasion, they warmed up to me, and now I'm a 'regular.' They have a number of curries, tandoori, and vegetarian dishes each day.
Here are the downsides: Although the taste is authentic, I'm not sure when the food is prepared, but it sits in the vats all day - When you go to the place, it's cold, and they ask if you've want it re-heated, in a microwave. This is good food, but I do NOT want it reheated; I want FRESH food.
Another issue I have is that they are ALWAYS changing and increasing the prices, which is a bit ridiculous. The prices on the online apps such as Ritual, Foodora, etc are not the same as their menu. Even when I go there in person, the prices are different than quoted. The portion sizes are also small for what they charge.
Overall, I appreciate this establishment because they're bringing authentic flavours; however, as a customer, I don't want old and reheated dishes. -

I have never been here but you really need to change your photo because it looks like it was taken with a toenail and I really don't like it right now

If you're craving something hearty, filling, quick and satisfying I would recommend King Place!
The area that it's located in is sketchy, the area is run down but if you're looking for something to go I would come again and grab some rice and chicken/ beef when I'm in the area.
In the pictures, my partner and I grabbed two dishes ($30 including tax- all food in the photos) (I forgot the names) but one was medium spicy chicken and beef, the beef chunks were very tender it seemed like they were flavoured and stewed for a while as the fork would easily tear apart the meat once your took a bite.
The service was great, we were going to get it to go, but the place was empty and the owner there sat us down to eat and even gave us extra of the chicken we ordered and brought our food to us. Really nice people here! -

This place is a gem. The entire point is that they are open super late (or 24/7? Not sure). This is Toronto. What other stuff do you eat at 5am? Certainly not A&W or Burger King: you come here. Don't you know that half the other Indian restaurants you go to, facade of fanciness regardless, reheat your orders from a base? Come here, get some fresh naan, enjoy.
